  1. Samantha says:

If I plan on showing up early enough to be first in line for a show like Aladdin or Hedwig– where should I start forming the line?

I know it might be a dumb question, but I’m making my first trip to NYC to rush a few shows and I want to make sure I don’t mess anything up by standing in the wrong place!!

    • Spotted Staff says:

Usually the line forms outside of the theatre where you would enter to go to the box office. I’m sure if you’re the first one there, people will just form a line behind you and if the line needs to move a few feet here or there, you should still be able to keep your spot :)

  2. "Boo" says:

Question…tell me how this works. Do I have to wait in line can I get in the lottery on line…I am not sure by your site. Thanks

    • Spotted Staff says:

You wait in line before the box office opens for rush tickets. For the lottery, you show up to the theatre at the specified times (dependent on the show), drop your name in a hat, bucket, bag, etc. then come back when names are called. For more specific information on each show’s lottery and rush policy, check out the lottery and rush policy section of the website :)

  3. Katie says:

Could you start including the Motown lottery? I’m curious what the turnout is for that show.

    • Spotted Staff says:

Unfortunately Motown doesn’t have a lottery. They sometimes offer standing room tickets an hour before curtain only if the show is sold out. For more information on each show’s lottery and rush policy, check out our Lottery & Rush Policy section of the website.

      • Anthony says:

Motown just started a lotto on July 1st. Should check the facts first instead of thinking someone is wrong.

  4. Frank says:

    Really hoping to catch:

Here Lies Love – any tips on when to line up for a Weeknight rush? Also, do you know how many rush tickets are handed out?

Beautiful – how early would you suggest to line up?

    Hedwig – same questions….

    THANKS!!!

    • Spotted Staff says:

We don’t really have any information for Here Lies Love. Sorry! For Beautiful, the first in line usually gets there pretty early, like around 6AM. It’s also hard to predict what will happen because sometimes they have rush tickets, sometimes they only have a very limited number of standing room tickets. If you really want to make sure you see it, I would get there as early as possible. Same with Hedwig. They don’t sell the standing room tickets until 45 minutes prior to curtain, but people start lining up around 9AM. And the number of tickets they have vary for each show. Sorry we can’t get you more definite information! Good luck!
