500x500

You’ve all heard the drama surrounding Orphans. Heck, everyone has, it’s been in the newspaper and talked about so much even my MOTHER heard about it. That’s right. Someone who doesn’t even have anything to do with Broadway called me up to ask about it (I guess having Alex Baldwin in the show will do that, huh?).

Well, in case you’re curious, here is the official description of the show, no off-stage drama included:

Two orphaned brothers live in their decrepit North Philadelphia row house. They survive by petty thievery and a steady diet of tuna fish and daytime television until the violent older brother decides to kidnap Harold (Baldwin), a notorious Chicago gangster. Harold soon becomes becomes the force that will forever change their lives.

Now it’s time for one of you to win two tickets to the show. Luckily it doesn’t start previews until later this month, so this contest will go from now until March 24th! That gives you plenty of time to enter and the winner plenty of time to secure their tickets (tickets will come in voucher form, so many dates are available).

So, how do you enter? Simple, you can enter up to 3 times over the course of the contest.

Entry options (do one or all of the following):

1. Comment below and tell me who you would have replaced Shia Labeouf with if you had been in charge  of re-casting (other than Ben Foster who I’m sure is gonna be great! This is just for fun).

2. Tweet the following, “I want to see @OrphansonBway for _______, because I loved him in _______ @BroadwaySpotted”

3. For the first time EVER you can enter via Facebook! We’re giving this a try to see if y’all are interested in having Facebook entries for contests. Head over to Facebook and link to this post, let us know either who you would have replaced Shia Labeouf with or who you’re most excited to see and why. Make sure to tag the @BroadwaySpotted page on Facebook, too so that we can find your entry.

As always, you must be following @BroadwaySpotted to win.

    Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
He has everything you could ask for in an actor. And would bring in big box office cash and name/face recognition.

  16. How about a return of Andrew Garfield?

  17. allison says:

I say Eddie Redmayne. He is one of theatre’s (and films) most promising stars, can act his way out of a cardboard box, and is best friends with Tom Sturridge so the chemistry would’ve been incredible!

I do love Ben Foster though! So can’t wait to see his performance!

  44. Karen Bail says:

    Andrew Leeds

  45. David Meyer says:

    Alternate replacement?
    Stunt Casting:
    Patti LuPone.

Who can really argue with that?

  46. Andre Rupp says:

To change his prototypical roles, Justin Bartha (because he is much more talented than some might think from what I have seen him do on stage).

  47. PTBartman says:

I’d love to see Freddy Highmore make his Broadway debut. He’s proven he can “play American” so this wouldn’t be a bad role.

  48. MG Stevens says:

    Justin Long… think about it!

  49. Hannah says:

I’d want Logan Green to do it.

  50. Brian Cullen says:

  58. Travis says:

I would have cast Logan Lerman, I just really want to see him on stage in anything.

  59. Noelle Martines says:

Normally I’d say/suggest a strictly theatrical personality, but since they’re going more of the ‘Hollywood route’ angle perhaps Ryan Reynolds would’ve been interesting to see perform live?

  60. joe Bartlett says:

    Ryan Gosling

  61. Amanda says:

I’d say either Andrew Garfield (since he was so well-received for Death of a Salesman) or Joe Jonas (for his popularity)

    Jake Gyllenhaal.

I would have cast Aaron Tveit!

  68. Nick says:

    Ryan Gosling!

  69. Francesca Nong says:

    Andrew Garfield!
