You know what I’m excited for in just two weeks?

Yes, yes…Christmas is the same day. But I’m THRILLED about the Les Miserable movie coming out. I love everyone being a part of it. I love that we get more movie musicals every year. It’s almost like being alive in the golden age, just a lot less black and white films lol

Anyway, the awesome people at Les Mis contacted me and asked me to give away tickets to the movie aaaand…this prize pack (Includes, $25 gift certificate to Fandango to see the film, a t-shirt, a journal and the soundtrack!):

Obviously, this means one of you has to take it home, right? So how? As usual, I like to give my people options on how they can win this. I’m giving you THREE options this time. You can enter THREE times and be three times more likely to win (How many times can I use three in a sentence? The world may never know). When we pick our winners in these contests that are chosen at random, we put all of the entries into a random generator and one is chosen as a winner, so obviously if you have three entries, you’re more likely to win. ANYWAY! HOW?!

These are your options, do one or all (Before Monday the 17th, when I will choose a winner):

1. Comment below telling me the moment you’re most excited to see captured on film or your favorite song from the musical (or both?).

2. Tweet this: I’m super excited to win tix to @lesmiserables, because I love _______ & @BroadwaySpotted. (In the blank, insert either an actor from the film that you love, a song that you love or a scene you can’t wait to see)

3. Tweet this: Does anyone actually do more Broadway related contests & activities than @BroadwaySpotted? Doesn’t seem like it. Follow them to participate!

  1. I’m definitely most excited to see how the battle scenes are played out. From what I’ve seen in the trailers, the barricade is massive and beautiful. Can’t wait to see everyone in action!

    • victor says:

I dreamed a dream- since first hearing it on the Tracy Ullman show before the Simpsons I’ve been in love with it ever since and that made me want to see Les Mis on Broadway for the 1st time (with 4 more times to follow). Also Do you hear the people sing- One day more- On my Own. Actually I can’t wait to hear them all!!!

  2. I can’t wait to see the full version of Anne’s “I Dreamed a Dream.” I’ve never really cared for the song before, but hearing her tears me up every time!

  3. Tanya Barrios says:

I can’t wait to how these group of actors translate the amount of emotion in this play onto the screen. Les Miserables had me crying like a baby on stage so I’m bringing tissues with me to the theater!

  4. Jess says:

I’m really excited to see how they do the finale with Fantine and Eponine coming back as ghosts for when Valjean dies. Always brings tears to my eyes when I listen to that moment, so I can’t wait to see it acted!

  5. Meghan McFarland says:

I’m super excited to see the whole film, so it’s hard to name just one scene/song, but I’m really excited to see some of my favorite songs performed like On My Own, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, At the End of the Day, Master of the House, Stars, Look Down, and A Little Fall of Rain!

  6. Jen Fingal says:

    Any and all Gavrosh!

  13. There are so many moments I’m looking forward to, but the fact that they NAILED the casting of Helena Bonham Carter, I most am looking forward to Master of the House. “Thinks he’s quite a lover, but there’s not much there!”

  14. Maria says:

So super super psyched to see “Confrontation!!”

Sasha Baron Cohen as Thenardier. The end. He will be brilliant.

I already tear up when the trailer comes on so I know I will cry in the theatre.

  20. SOOOOOO excited for the movie overall. I have to say though, that the ultimate moment in the movie that I am waiting for is the EXACT same moment that I anxiously await every time I have seen the actual show (even when it was on PBS for the anniversary concert). ONE DAY MORE! The way that all of the characters come together along with their ambitions and their drive and their passion is stunning each and every time. Boublil and Schoenberg sculpt this beautifully with their music and lyrics. I love it! :) :) :)

  21. Dez says:

I can NOT wait to see and hear Aaron Tveit whenever he will be on camera!!

  22. Rachael says:

without a doubt on my own and one day more two of the most beautiful songs that i’ve ever heard!

I am most excited to see what Helena Bonham Carter and Sasha Baron-Cohen do with the Thenardiers. Holy. Cow. It’s going to be epic.

However, my favorite song in general is “One Day More.” Again with the epic-ness….I mean, how can anything be more epic than that song??? On stage or on screen…

How many times can *I* use ‘epic’ in a paragraph???

  31. Amanda says:

QUESTION: You said the winner is taken randomly by putting ALL responses in a generator, etc. So my question is this…You say we can enter three times, but since it’s a random selections process- what’s to stop people from say, Tweeting 10 times instead of just 2? That wouldn’t be very fair :-( Unless that’s ok with you…In which case, may the best man win.

  32. Amanda says:

PPS: Your number 3 option is more than 140 characters….

  33. Bridget Rooney says:

I’m excited for pretty much any scene with Aaron Tveit or Anne Hathaway.

Let me just say the Les Mizzzz obc is the only thing getting me through finals week. So excited for the movie to come out. However, I was skeptical when rumor had it TSwift would be Cosette. 40. Rachael says:

So I am excited to see it portrayed on film. Also, I’m curious to see how Russell Crowe portrays him, because I’m not so much of a fan of his from his other movies…but I’m excited to see his Javert. I hope I love him <3

  123. Andrew Beck says:

Anything Hugh Jackman sings on the show will be worth my while, plus I can’t wait to see how One Day More is filmed!

  124. tori says:

Im excited for Javerts Soliloquy and how they bring it to life, IM also excited for little fall of rain because its one of my favorite songs in the show as well as hugh jackmans transformation throughtout the show againg etc… I ahve been excited for this movie since it was rumored years and years ago.

  125. Brent T. says:

I’m really excited for the movie everything I’ve seen in the trailers so far seems fantastic. I love when musical movies are done right

  126. Ashley Rozanski says:

Although there are so many reasons why I love this show, I am most looking forward to seeing Samantha’s interpretation of On My Own! I think it will move everyone to tears!

  127. Dave Kerwood says:

I can’t wait to see Master of the House. Great casting!

  128. Alyson Leonard says:

I’m so excited to see the scenes at the barricade, especially with Eponine before A Little Fall Of Rain!

  129. KimberlyC says:

On My Own. Reduces me to tears every time. Just the thought of seeing this movie keeps me up at night, I swear. So excited!

  130. Mia Capone says:

I’m excited to see the entire thing! Personally, I’m excited to see Castle on a Cloud. I love it!

  131. Torrey Drum says:

I’m super excited to hear Hugh Jackmansing Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. Favorite song ever!

  132. Matthew Mucha says:

Aghhhhh, I can’t even begin to explain my love for this show and my excitement for it coming to the movies! I fell in love with the power, passion, and sheer wonder of the show. I think that the cast of the movie is going to be fantastic. I think I’m most excited to see Hugh Jackman pull off the legendary Jean Valjean. I know he can act and sing amazingly, so I’m thrilled to see him take on this character. As far as musical numbers go, I’m anxious to see how they attacked the many story lines in “One Day More!” I hope it’s clean and well done, clearly showing what each plot line means when they sing their lyrics. All in all, I think the movie will be outstanding and I can’t want to go! :D

  133. Edward Almanza says:

The song/scene I’m most excited for would be Confrontation!!!!!!! I cant wait to see Jackman and Crow face to face in that scene!!!! EPIC!!!

  134. Trevor Braun says:

Everything about this movie excites me to be honest. I feel that the casting is superb, the idea of singing live is ingenious, the score and book are obviously amazing, and everything else is just perfect! This movie is going to be such a sheer joy to see. However, if I had to pick one scene/song that I am most excited for I would probably have to choose A Little Fall of Rain or On My Own. These two moments shows one of my favorite characters Eponine and her tragic vulnerability. I feel that in a movie the audience will be able to see even better the layers of this character. Eponine, though seemingly tough has such a soft, sweet inner self and the intimacy Miss Samantha Barks shows with the camera in the clips really just bring tears to my eyes. Also, I feel that these two songs are two of the best songs in the entire show. Of course, all of the songs are fantastic but particularly these two. I feel that the movie is going to show off a beautiful intimacy between characters and I know that I will be brought to tears while watching this beautiful piece of cinematic genius.

  135. Elizabeth B says:

I’m most excited to see Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter in “Master of the House”…the casting alone has unbelievable promise for great character and lots of hilarity! I’m also SUPER excited to see “The Confrontation…” Hugh Jackman’s tremendous dedication to this film can easily be seen through his interviews, and I have a feeling it’s going to come through the most during this number! THIS WILL BE THE FILM OF THE YEAR! :D

  136. Kaycie says:

I’m really excited to see One Day More. It’ll be great to see all the characters singing in different places, and I’m really curious to see how they shot and edited it. I’m also looking forward very much to Samantha Bark’s performance.

  137. Michael says:

Excited to see what Hugh does with the role and if he can lost in this incredible character. He’s so charasmatic on film… hope it all works!

  138. Jeryl M. says:

my favorite song is On My Own.

  139. Deb says:

I’m a Michael Ball fan so really excited to see what Eddie does with Empty Chairs, Empty Tables.

  140. Geoff says:

I’m a huge fan of Hugh Jackman and Amanda Seyfried, so I’m excited to see both of them in Les Mis!! Also, the song ‘On My Own’ is one I’m especially looking forward to :)

  141. 148jules says:

Come To Me when Fantine and Eponine beckon Valjean at the end. As much as I think I’m cold hearted and won’t cry … I know I’ll be a basket case at the end.

  142. Roger Gindi says:

I’m hoping they restore “Little People” to the movie after it was dropped from the London Production for Broadway. A charming song that makes us feel worse for Gavroche when he is killed.

  143. Beth Damiano says:

A Little Fall of Rain will make me a total basket case I’m sure, but I love it sooooooooooo much!

  144. Randi says:

Excited to see the film just b/c it is Les Miz! Favorite song is On My Own.

  145. Hunter says:

I’m most excited to see Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter perform Master of the House!

  146. Cayley says:

I am SO excited for Les Mis! I live in South Africa and we don’t have anything near as awesome as Broadway or West End, so being able to take home Les Mis is just fantastic! I’m looking forward to watching Samantha Barks as Eponine and seeing how they’ve created the set! It’s going to be incredible!!!

  147. Shannon Horn says:

Having seeing this gripping and moving musical countless times, choosing one moment is almost next to impossible. Instead, I would like to choose one line that stuck with me from the first time I saw or heard the musical. I have used it as a way to live my life. The line comes almost at the end of the entire show. “To love another person is to see the face of God.” I am not a very religious person, but there is something spiritual when you look into the eyes of someone you love.

  148. Linda Ciccarone says:

So many great songs to choose from but One Day More is my favorite

  149. Jen Lau says:

As a long time fan of the Broadway production, it’s hard to choose only one song, but I am excited to see how the stage production is translated for the screen. I’m looking forward to hearing Hugh Jackman sing “Bring Him Home” – just hearing the opening chords of that songs brings me to tears.

  150. Holly Lucian says:

Maybe its morbid, but the suicide of Javert gets me every time! You want to hate him, but he is just following his moral code. I want to see how that is played out. Also, hearing “One More Day” will be amazing.

  151. Susan Still says:

My favorite songs are “On My Own” and ” A Little Fall of Rain”. What can I say Eponine is my favorite character.

  152. Erin Yablonsky says:

I am excited to see the whole movie, my favorite song is Empty Chairs at Empty Tables…

  153. Hillary Fisk says:

I cannot wait to see the last scene and how it translates to the big screen. There is nothing more emotional or powerful than the last scene as they march, sing, and wave the flag. I’m really curious to see what it will look like and can’t wait to see. Hoping it is as beautiful and powerful as the musical.

  154. evan says:

im excited for one day more

  155. Donna Mero says:

So hard to pick one.. but I can’t wait for “Castle on a Cloud”.

  156. Susan Murphy says:

Can the movie live up to the play in interpreting Master of the House…so funny. The play is so epic, I wish the same for the movie and can’t wait to hear One More Day and and the rest of the music.

  157. Andrea says:

How do I pick one? This musical changed my life. “On My Own” has always had a big impact on me, so I can’t wait to see how that’s done, but I’m also really excited to see how they handle the big numbers like “At the End of the Day” and “One Day More.” I just can’t wait for this! I’m giddy!

  158. Lindsay Davis says:

So many great moments! I am looking forward to spotting Frances Ruffelle in her apparent cameo…and also some spot-on tenor belting from Aaron Tveit.

  159. Rachel says:

    Aaron!jolras.

    Need I say more?

  160. Lauren says:

I’m most excited about the live singing, and the live theater quality I hope it brings. Les mis has always been my favorite, and while it does come through Dallas occasionally I don’t get to see it as often as I would like, but this I could potentially watch everyday!!

  161. Eliza W. says:

I am so excited for all of Eponine’s scenes especially “On My Own”, her character has always been my favorite. I also can’t wait to see the makeup, costumes, and sets. Also Anne Hathaway’s “I Dreamed a Dream” I am really just the whole presentation and portrayals of all involved! Madame Thenardier should also be fantastic!

  162. ellen bello says:

I am excited to hear and experience “On my Own.”I am also excited to see all the scenes behind the bricades. It’s really hard to choose! I love it all!!!!!!
    I hope I win!

  163. Jennifer says:

I’m more excited for the act 2 finale, “One Day More”! Can’t only imagine that it will be EPIC BEYOND ALL PROPORTION!!!

  164. David Buffington says:

I am excited to see One More Day. The power of this song on stage left me breathless and anxious for Act 2.

  165. Amanda N says:

I’m excited to see any scene with Les Amis AND One Day More!

  166. Jacob S says:

I have listened to the LES MIZ score for years, but have never experienced a production in any capacity, including the anniversary concerts or the tour that stopped by my city this past fall. Only because part of me would love to have the film as my first experience watching anything LES MIZ. After reading about these critically acclaimed performances, I cannot wait to see the likes of Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, (and my personal favorite) Samantha Barks take on these iconic musical numbers and characters… This is going to become the best movie musical of the last decade, I feel, and I cannot wait to bawl and experience the epic, legendary LES MIZ for the first time on film or on “stage.” The story of faith, hope, dreaming, and love is just what we need in a film these days.

  167. Heather Wilson says:

I’m a Les Misvergin (is that a thing?) having only seen half of the 25th Anniversary concert, but I’m looking very much forward to seeing young Colette’s solo purely for the gorgeous cinematography, along with Anne’s rendition of I Dreamed A Dream. Gonna finish the concert film this weekend so I’m ready for the movie!

  168. R.J. Lowe says:

I most excited to see the whole thing. From the first music strike to the final soaring moments!!!

  169. Cassidy Corrao says:

The moment that I am very excited to see on film is the confrontation between valjean and javert! When I first became a fan of the show I had listened to that song so many times and then when I finally saw it on stage it was as intense and dramatic has I had pictured it. That is basically the turning point in the play.

But I also have to say my absolute favorite song is Master of the House! I fell in love with the Thernardies as soon as I saw them on stage! You just love to hate them, and hate to love them! They are so despicable yet they bring a comic relief to the show when you need it.

  170. PTBartman says:

I want to see how the scope and magnificence of Hugo’s story as interpreted translates to the screen. I’ve always thought the plays only flaw was that the stage was to small a medium.

  171. Anthony says:

    Hugh Jackman

After seeing The Boy From Oz, I love his performing.

  172. Rebecca says:

I’m so excited for Samantha Barks doing anything. Her acting is superb and what a voice! I cannot wait to start sobbing at “A Little Fall of Rain.”

  173. Gregory Barbosa says:

I am most excited to see Anne Hathaway perform her songs. Also I’m excited to see Samantha Bark sing On My Own. It’s my favorite song and it relates to my life so much and I loved Samantha Barks in the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Miseables!

  174. Eve Lyn says:

My favorite song has to be I Dreamed A Dream, and I can’t wait to see Anne Hathaway perform it in the film.

  175. Lori E. says:

I’m actually excited to see how they filmed “One Day More,” especially the sections that feature the soloists.

  176. K. Lemelin says:

I am most excited for Eponines scenes! There has yet to be a movie that truly brought her character to life and did her justice. At my age, I relate to her the most and can’t wait to be able to experience Les Miserable whenever I feel like it.

  177. Christa-Lee says:

I’m super excited to see Colm as the Bishop. I’m going to cry right there and then.

  178. Robb J says:

I just want to see another great version of On My Own. Plus the cameos by Ruffle and Colm and, yeah I just want to see this . . . now

  179. Debbie says:

The scene that I am most looking forward to is the Barricade! Songs there are so many Empty Chairs Empty Tables, On My Own, Stars, Do You Hear The People Sing. I want it all ;-)

  180. Natalie says:

“I Dreamed a Dream”… And I already have the tissues ready!!!

  181. Mariah Schultz says:

The moment I’m probably most excited to see in the movie is whenever Aaron Tveit makes his first appearance since he’s been so neglected with the trailers and promos. I really can’t wait to see his performances and how he takes control of those barricades especially during “Do You Hear the People Sing.” Songwise though it would have to be “On My Own” because during the 25th anniversary concert version Samantha Barks delivered such a heartbreakingly beautiful version, so I can’t wait to see her do it again on the big screen will all of that rain.

  182. Abbe Gail Gross says:

I bet the opening sequence will be exciting.

  183. Shannon D. says:

Are you SERIOUSLY making me pick ONE SONG or ONE SCENE?!
Really?! Really?! I want to see the ENTIRE Production! Being super excited since I FIRST heard of the movie being made and then OMG, Hugh Jackman & Anne Hathaway!!!
Ok, the part I’m looking forward to… any and all scenes with Hugh! bonus, when he is actually singing! :) LOL

  184. cali says:

I dreamed a dream. Hands down. I’m looking forward to Anne Hathaway singing it.

  185. Alyssa says:

I Dreamed A Dream. In my opinion, that is one of the greatest songs ever made, and I cannot wait to hear Anne sing it and see the emotion in it. I love that she didn’t go for the ‘pretty’ version. She made it real and raw and emotional.

  186. Hey Broadwayspotted!!!

I’m excited to see Anne Hathaway perform I Dreamed a Dream!!

    -Eddie

  187. Heather T says:

When I was little my favorite song was Castle on a Cloud. Then, as a teenager, it was On My Own. Now, I’m not sure which is my favorite because I generally love them all!
I’m super excited for the movie! My brother and I are going at 10pm Christmas Eve!

  188. Cindi V. says:

I think I’m most curious about how the sewer sequence will be filmed. And, I’m really hoping that Hollywood does right by this beautiful musical. It’s been my favorite musical of all time since the first time I saw it years ago. CAN’T WAIT to see it! :-)

  189. Spencer B. says:

On My Own is my favorite song from the musical. Who doesn’t love songs of unrequited love?!

  190. Teressa says:

    Helena Bonham Carter…..the feels D:

  191. Jim S says:

I am anxiously awaiting hugh Jackmans version of ‘Bring Him Home”. This has always been my favorite song from the show….

  192. Don Rickenback says:

I am most excited about how the theatrical acting aspect of the productions has been so magnificently melded with the singing. The way this film is being shot and recorded is a singing actor’s dream, and we the viewers are going to be the winners! Bravo to all who had the guts to take this theatrical leap!

  193. Geoffrey Co says:

Long time fan as well…but would love to see STARS & BRING HIM HOME because I have sang those songs so many times….and I do admire Hugh Jackman so would love to see him perform this.

  194. Stephen N. says:

I’m just excited to take my older sister to see this (I am taking her as a Christmas gift- shhh don’t tell). She loves Les Mis and Helena Bonham Carter.

  195. Michael Angel says:

My favorite song from the show has to be “I Dreamed A Dream”. I watched the movie last week and it was first time EVER seeing the show. I went in knowing nothing (I know, Bway Geek SHOCKER) and I looooooooooved it. I can’t wait to see it again! And the songs were so damn good. I am now a LES MIS freak!

  196. Tobias Kaplan says:

I saw the movie this week and I loved the soundtrack. I think most of the actors and actresses did a fantastic job singing

  197. Kim says:

I’m excited to see this amazing musical because I’ve been a fan since the 25th anniversary came out, and the roles are amazing. My favorite character being Eponine from the start, and having her be in the movie as well as the musical makes me happy. Overall, it’s amazing so why shouldn’t I want to watch it??

  198. Nicole says:

I’m most excited to see anything with Eponine in it, especially I dreamed a dream. By far my favourite song in the musical, right next to one day more :) love the musical, the songs, and the actors/actresses
